The artwork Pumpkin and Fruits (1993) by Yayoi Kusama is a screenprint on paper measuring 24.2 × 33.2 cm, with a sheet size of 33.5 × 42.9 cm, including margins. Signed by the artist in the lower right corner, it is titled and dated in the center of the lower margin and numbered ed.160 in the lower left corner. The artwork is presented in a simple and elegant frame.
The composition depicts a still life featuring a pumpkin and various fruits arranged in a large handled container. The pumpkin, a recurring subject in Kusama’s work, is decorated with her signature black polka dots on a yellow background, while the other fruits, including pears, cherries, and berries, are adorned with repetitive graphic patterns that enhance the sense of accumulation and obsession. The background is divided into two sections: the upper part features a dense network of white lines on a black surface, while the lower part showcases a red and black geometric pattern that adds depth to the composition.
Through the use of screen printing, Kusama achieves remarkable clarity and vibrant color intensity. Pumpkin and Fruits reflects her distinctive visual language, where repetition, accumulation, and the use of polka dots transform a traditional still-life subject into an immersive and psychologically charged work. This screenprint embodies her unique style, blending elements of artistic tradition with her obsessive and hallucinatory vision of the world.

Soup, and he made experimental films like Empire.
From a stylistic point of view, he rejected the dominant painting and sculpting techniques and embraced silk-screen printmaking, creating his typical flat areas of color and sharp outlines.
