Takashi Murakami - Doraemon - Hip Hip Hurrah!

The work by Takashi Murakami, Doraemon, Hip Hip Hurrah! is numbered and signed in original by the artist.

The subject of the artwork is the well-known protagonist of the manga series Doraemon, a robot-cat who helps a young and unfortunate Nobita in his everyday exploits. The famous character, however, does not have the typical blue color we are used to seeing him in, while it features the colorful figures of other characters of the manga, alongside Murakami's trademark colorful daisies.

The work Doraemon, Hip Hip Hurrah! was made in 2018 and is a limited edition of 1000 pieces.

Andy Warhol was an American artist, film director and photographer, leading figure of Pop Art movement. Born in 1928 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania he changed the art world creating works inspired by Pop and mass culture. Among his masterpieces, Warhol depicted celebrities like Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley, but also everyday objects like the iconic Campbell’s
Soup
, and he made experimental films like Empire.

From a stylistic point of view, he rejected the dominant painting and sculpting techniques and embraced silk-screen printmaking, creating his typical flat areas of color and sharp outlines.

With his New York studio, The Factory, Andy Warhol created a gathering place for artists, intellectuals and celebrities. The scope of his art had a strong influence on other artists such as Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
