Ladies and Gentlemen is an artwork made by the American Pop-artist Andy Warhol. The artwork depicts a drug queen from the New York nightclub named The Gilden Grape. This artwork is part of a photographic project, known as Ladies and Gentlemen, in which Warhol took photos of several Drag Queens during the 1974s. They pose in front of Warhol's lens in the poses of Hollywood stars, wearing full make-up, revealing their vision of the feminine.
This work is made in a black and white on acetate. This support began to be used in cinematography during the 1920s to replace the highly flammable nitrate film. In Andy Warhol's creative process, the use of acetate was an important building block, preceding the screen print of the image.

Andy Warhol was an American artist, film director and photographer, leading figure of Pop Art movement. Born in 1928 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania he changed the art world creating works inspired by Pop and mass culture. Among his masterpieces, Warhol depicted celebrities like Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley, but also everyday objects like the iconic Campbell’s
Soup, and he made experimental films like Empire.
From a stylistic point of view, he rejected the dominant painting and sculpting techniques and embraced silk-screen printmaking, creating his typical flat areas of color and sharp outlines.
With his New York studio, The Factory, Andy Warhol created a gathering place for artists, intellectuals and celebrities. The scope of his art had a strong influence on other artists such as Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

- For shippings from the United States: from 49 $ to 499 $ for United States; from 149 $ to 799 $ for the rest of the world. The delivery time is 4-6 working days for United States, 7-14 working days for the rest of the world.
- For shippings from Italy: from 49 $ to 499 $ for Italy; from 99 $ to 699 $ for Europe; from 149 $ to 799 $ for the rest of the world. The delivery time is 4 working days for Italy, 6-9 working days for Europe, 7-14 working days for the rest of the world.
WHAT IF THE ARTWORK IS DAMAGED?
When you receive your artwork/s, first of all you should check that everything is alright, that the pack is not damaged or wet. Anyway, we advise you to accept with reserve.
If once you open the package the artwork is broken or damaged, you have to contact us within 24 hours from the delivery date, and send us pictures that prove the damage.
RETURNS AND REFUNDS
If you realize that you actually don’t like very much what you have bought, you can return any item purchased within 2 days from the delivery date.
Send us an emal to firstname.lastname@example.org, we will send you an email with a return form document. Without this document you can’t return any item. Then you have to carefully pack the artwork and send it to the address we will provide you.
Shipping costs and eventual damages (if the artwork is not insured) are on your charge. Once the artwork arrives we will refund you within 10 days from the artwork's delivery.
