David LaChapelle's work, VII: He Falls the Second Time is a chromogenic print on Dibond made in a limited edition of 7 examples and 5 artist's proofs.
In this work Christ continues his path of penance for all humanity, bearing the weight of the cross. He holds his abdomen with his hand, in a moment of slight yielding. A soldier then intervenes, wearing a modern red tunic, slightly open across his chest. The soldier looks ahead, toward the path to redemption.
In the process, Jesus' expression becomes increasingly reflective and somber, just to emphasize the pain he is feeling at that moment and the effort he is making for all of us. In this work we see how Christ has always entrusted himself into God's hands for this journey.

The Stations of the Cross Series
Way of the Cross is nothing more than a Christian devotional path that consists of processionally passing 14 crosses, pausing at each one to pray to Jesus. These crosses are called stations: this Christian-based spiritual path inspired LaChapelle for his 2023 series Station of the Cross.
LaChapelle tells a sacred journey in a profane surrealist key, starting from the place where Jesus was condemned to death and ending with the place of the resurrection.
Profane in that Jesus is in the guise of Italian musician and actor Tedua: in 2023 the rapper released his third album dedicated to the Divine Comedy, a record for which LaChapelle signed the Covers for the two parts, Inferno and Purgatorio. The Genoese singer interprets the figure of Jesus with incredible pathos, reminiscent of the part he played in Michele Placido's 2022 film, The Shadow of Caravaggio.
Imbued with theatricality, the devotional itinerary is dismayed by symbolic figures inspired by the medieval and post-modern eras. However, LaChapelle repurposes the Christian iconographic repertoire in kitsch: he remixes semantic codes, drawing on the notoriety of images to provide us with new meanings related to the contemporary world. Plastic, sculpted, exaggeratedly colored, the subjects of LaChapelle's photographs reinterpret the secularized visual culture of the sacred. Thus the artist engages the viewer in his reflection on today's conception of religiosity.

Andy Warhol was an American artist, film director and photographer, leading figure of Pop Art movement. Born in 1928 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania he changed the art world creating works inspired by Pop and mass culture. Among his masterpieces, Warhol depicted celebrities like Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley, but also everyday objects like the iconic Campbell’s
Soup, and he made experimental films like Empire.
From a stylistic point of view, he rejected the dominant painting and sculpting techniques and embraced silk-screen printmaking, creating his typical flat areas of color and sharp outlines.
With his New York studio, The Factory, Andy Warhol created a gathering place for artists, intellectuals and celebrities. The scope of his art had a strong influence on other artists such as Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

- For shippings from the United States: from 49 $ to 1,300 $ depending on the final destination. The delivery time is 4-14 working days for United States, 7-20 working days for the rest of the world.
WHAT IF THE ARTWORK IS DAMAGED?
When you receive your artwork/s, first of all you should check that everything is alright, that the pack is not damaged or wet. Anyway, we advise you to accept with reserve.
If once you open the package the artwork is broken or damaged, you have to contact us within 24 hours from the delivery date, and send us pictures that prove the damage.
RETURNS AND REFUNDS
If you realize that you actually don’t like very much what you have bought, you can return any item purchased within 14 days from the delivery date.
Send us an emal to us@deodato.us, we will send you an email with a return form document. Without this document you can’t return any item. Then you have to carefully pack the artwork and send it to the address we will provide you.
Shipping costs and eventual damages (if the artwork is not insured) are on your charge. Once the artwork arrives we will refund you within 15 days from our final check of the artwork.
